Packing, customs & label guide

How it works

1. 1 Tell us about the parcel — contents, rough weight, and destination postcode.
2. 2 We send a fixed price, within the hour, with a payment link. Nothing is charged until you accept.
3. 3 Print the label and the customs invoice, emailed to you and ready for an ordinary printer.
4. 4 Drop it off or arrange a pickup, then track it to delivery.

Measuring and weighing

Couriers charge on billable weight — the higher of actual and volumetric weight.

Measure the packed box including tape and bulges, and round up.

Packing correctly

• Use a double-walled box, not the retail carton the item came in.
• Two inches of cushioning on every side — nothing should shift when you shake it.
• Tape all seams in an H-pattern. Never use string or cloth.
• Put a copy of the address inside the box in case the label is damaged.
• Double-bag anything liquid or powdered, and declare it honestly.

Printing the label

Any home printer on plain paper works. Print at 100% — not "fit to page".

• Tape the label flat on the largest face, with no tape across the barcode.
• Remove or cross out any old shipping labels.
• Put the customs invoice in a pouch on the outside, or under a flap.

Customs paperwork

Every international parcel needs an invoice listing each item with quantity, value and country of manufacture. Be specific — vague descriptions are the number one cause of customs delays.

Duty and taxes

Import duty is set by the destination country and is usually paid by the receiver before delivery. Gifts under the local threshold may be exempt, but customs decides. We estimate any duty your family may be asked to pay before you book, and we encourage honest declarations — under-declaring a value risks seizure, a fine, and loss of insurance cover.
